About Kenneth L. Weiss, Esq.

Mr. Weiss, an attorney, has practiced law for 50 years and is a current member of Advisory Board and Litigation Committee of the Florida Center For Government Accountability (FLCGA.com). He established the Weiss Fellowship for law students to intern with the First Amendment Foundation (https://floridafaf.org/) and in 2017 received the First Amendment Foundation James C. Adkins/Sunshine Litigation Award.

For the last 20 years, Mr. Weiss has represented citizens in Sunshine Law and Public Records matters as well as  land use challenges.

During his extensive career, Mr. Weiss was in house counsel for Fortune 500 companies, serving as a management team member responsible for planning, development and execution of business strategies relating to acquisitions, divestitures, licensing, trade agreements, and regulatory matters.

Additionally, he has:

  • Extensive transactional experience involving software, technology, and intellectual property matters;

  • Negotiated and managed over $1 billion in acquisitions and financing transactions in technology, manufacturing and service industries;

  • SEC and NYSE experience includes compliance, registration, statements, enforcement actions;

  • Responsible for board of directors agenda, resolutions, and compliance; and
  • Complex case litigation management experience includes SEC enforcement actions, class actions, patent litigation, software contract arbitration, insurance claims, Chapter 11 litigation.

Mr. Weiss graduated in the top 10% of his class with J.D., Honors at the University of Florida Law School in Gainesville, also earning an L.L.M., in Taxation. He became a licensed Member of The Florida Bar in 1973, a Florida Bar Board Certified Tax Lawyer in 1983, passed his CPA examination, and was a Certified Circuit Civil and Family Mediator for ten years.
